Coaching Testimonials

Izabela U.

(Program Manager @ Apple, Inc.)

Before meeting Khemit, I was feeling dejected that my approach toward trying to get a new job was going nowhere. I thought I wasn’t answering interview questions correctly and wanted to find a better way to present myself and get my confidence back. This was the longest I had ever interviewed for a job, and I thought that talking to a coach could get me back on the right path. I also some larger questions about how to approach work relationships that were on the back burner until I found my next job

I had tried taking several online courses and books on specific technical skills and on how to ace interviews in my field to get past this hurdle.  I brushed up on a lot of skills and frameworks that helped my get farther and farther in interviews, until it seemed all that was left was personality fit and soft skills. Still, I kept hearing that I was never quite the right fit.

It was great to work with Khemit because he helped me regain confidence by reminding me of my skills and competencies, and that it wasn’t all my fault that finding a job was so hard in the time of a pandemic.  He also equipped me with some new concepts and best practices that I feel confident I can apply at the job I ended up getting hired for after we began working together [program manager at Apple, Inc.] .

Since we come from the same profession, Khemit’s feedback was very valuable. He taught me to refocus on how I was approaching interview questions, did mock interviews, and gave thoughtful feedback on my answers and stories.  He was also able to easily switch contexts and focus on a new set of questions I had after my work situation changed halfway through our engagement.

The personality test gave me several new insights into where I scored on various factors and then how to best with my tendencies to reach my professional goals. It was eye-opening to know the things I scored low on, and Khemit was very adept at weaving in the results of this test into his recommendations.

Khemit listened very well and provided a set of examples of how to deal with specific workplace issues in a positive way and kept all of his feedback in a document that I can now look back on.  He also shared a lot of personal stories of how he handled difficult workplace situations that helped me understand new approaches to the same problems.

I would recommend working with Khemit because he did a great job trying to thoroughly understand my goals and the issues I came to him with, and always had very useful, actionable feedback at every session. He is prompt, set expectations very well at the beginning of each call, and kept all the topics we covered organized for later reference. He is also a positive, supportive person that I enjoyed talking to even early in the morning, and I felt he was genuinely trying to help in a lasting way.

Before working with Khemit, I was feeling exhausted and frazzled in the midst of my job search because I was spending nearly all of my time outside work on job applications. Together, Khemit and I came up with a plan to reduce my time spent on each application and still get great results. I used to be spending 2-3 hours on one application, and after some of our first sessions I was completing and submitting five applications in one hour. With some helpful perspective, developing templates, and knowing what to focus on while crafting each cover letter and resume, Khemit guided me into a streamlined and effective approach to creating competitive job applications.

Cut to 5-6 weeks later, and I’ve landed a job that is the perfect fit for me. I’m so excited to be starting, and so grateful that our paths crossed because I will take these skills with me for the rest of my career.

Khemit is a fantastic coach with great insights to share, and he creates a safe and open conversational space where there are no dumb career-related questions. The job search can be isolating at times, but having Khemit there to answer questions, cheer me on, and offer a supportive and collaborative approach to my job search was incredibly impactful. I would highly recommend working on any career initiative with him.

I’ve had a long, moderately successful career, but mediocrity is very unfulfilling, so I decided to explore what’s been holding me back. I didn’t need help discovering what I was doing wrong (I had a good handle on that!), I was more interested in understanding why I continued to repeat patterns that weren’t working. Of course, learning tactics to replace those patterns with ones that are both different and beneficial was an important goal too.

I appreciated the analytical approach that Khemit offers. It begins with an empirical personality assessment. It left me feeling uncomfortable, which lent an element of veracity because change requires getting out of one’s comfort zone. Gathering the empirical data was straightforward, however assessing it is what makes it useful, and this was a core strength for Khemit. The process is well thought out and Khemit’s enthusiasm was on full display as he helped me understand the results. Khemit didn’t try to convince me that the uncomfortable portions were valid, rather he used them to provide context for subsequent discussions of my work experiences.

Khemit was well prepared for these discussions, which, along with the structure, made them more efficient, so more ground could be covered. The process enabled me to rediscover the aspirations that were at the forefront of my enjoyable experiences. We were also able to define tactics for dealing with the unpleasant ones that are bound to occur whenever people interact. As our discussions progressed, it became quite clear that the initial personality assessment had been very accurate. Working with Khemit provided the perspective shift I needed to identify when old tendencies are sabotaging me, along with the tools required to keep them in check.

Khemit was a pleasure throughout. As one might expect, he has great listening skills, but Khemit created a chemistry that I’ve seldom experienced and woefully undervalued. His background in the tech space facilitated discussions of complex topics and Khemit was able to provide real world insights and practical tips drawn not only from his own experience, but from others who have benefitted from his coaching as well.

I can recommend The Character Arc and Khemit as a career coach without reservation. My only regret is discovering the benefits in the twilight of my career, so don’t hesitate if you are considering it yourself. It’s well worth it and you’ll likely be able to amortize the cost and more importantly the benefit over a much longer period.

Before hiring Khemit, I was trying to scale my business but had completely overworked myself in the process. Because of this, I lost overview of what I needed to do to reach my goal: Scale, work less, earn more.

Khemit helped me in creating structure in the mess and stay focussed on my goals, helping me define the right priorities. Besides helping me keep on track, I loved getting Khemit’s perspectives on topics that were blocking me. As an example, I had an unhealthy mindset when it comes to money and worked with Khemit on making lasting changes.

Khemit’s goal was always to create something with me that would still be helpful after we would stop working together. With his help, I’ve created structures, Job descriptions, processes and training material that help me to keep scaling my business and to avoid becoming overwhelmed again.

I very much recommend you to work with Khemit if you need coaching support to get from A to B in your carreer or your business. He’s incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable, knows how to listen and has an amazing ability to keep clarity, even when things seem too overwhelming.

Thank you Khemit for all you’ve done for me!

When I started working with Khemit, I was looking for a way to leave my awful job at Uber. But I had so many passions that I didn’t know which one to pick. I was always picking up and putting down projects; I never really finished what I started.

Through my discussions with Khemit, I started to organize my life around the values I admired. I left my job and turned my passion project into a new career in video editing. Khemit helped me, through the observation of the characters I admire, to understand what are the values I want to develop in my life. It helped me to realize why I was inspired by those characters, and Khemit helped me to turn this inspiration into concrete steps for my life.

I worked with Khemit, and I’d really recommend it. Not only is it fun, it’s very revealing. It gives you very practical steps that you implement in many areas of your life to make changes that you want to make, and towards goals as well.

I wanted to work on my relationships. And through our work together I found the values that I really respected. And I wanted to embody those more in my own life, but I didn’t feel confident enough to do it. But it was very linked to me getting the relationships I wanted in my own life, and having better relationships all around.

I’m using it, and I’m getting results from it. So Khemit helped me come up with practical steps that I can I can use to embody those values more – to be more honest, to say how I really feel, and to do it without any kind of drama, and fast. And it’s really interesting, because I’m finding that I’m changing my reactions to people as well, and they’re then changing their reactions to me. It really is taking me towards where I want to go in my life.

I’ve been in self development for a while, and I think Khemit’s approach is very unique. Though at first (as with any life changes) it was a little bit nerve wracking, but it’s easy to implement. Khemit really guides you through the process. He’s very warm, and very open, but he’s also very direct. So you feel that you know exactly what you’re doing. I really do feel it’s making a difference in my relationships in general and moving me towards where I want to go. So I really would recommend it.

I had a great experience taking The Character Arc course from Khemit. The course helped me to reconnect with some of my core values and take action that aligns perfectly with those values. If you’ve ever felt energized by an inspirational movie and would like to channel that movie-magic into taking meaningful action, I highly recommend this course.
